Indonesia Holidays
Indonesia has been gaining much deserved popularity as a tourist destination in recent times, and you can take up the opportunity to make this year’s holiday an unforgettable one by going there. Do not worry about finding things to do – the opportunities for that are plenty in Indonesia, so your holiday there is bound to be an exciting one!
Interested in history and culture? Start your trip at the Prambanan Temple Complex, which is comprised of several temples and is the largest temple complex on the island of Java (or at least its Indonesian territory). The temples have been around for many centuries, though they have been abandoned shortly after being finished, most likely due to the nearby volcano erupting.
In Jakarta, you can find the National Monument Monas – if you get at the top, you’ll get a beautiful sight over the city, sometimes showing all the way up to the coastline of Java. Still in Jakarta, you could also visit the National Museum, also known as Gajah, which can reveal to you a lot about Indonesia’s history and development.
We mentioned volcanoes earlier – there is even a still-active one on Java Island, on top of Mount Bromo – which is the most visited volcano in Indonesia. Don’t worry though, a trip there won’t be dangerous in any way so pack your camera and head on over to snap a few pictures of this amazing sight.
One attraction of Indonesia are the Komodo lizards, which are the largest species of lizard in the world; you can take a boat to the Komodo island to look for a few of those, but make sure you have got an experienced guide with you (or you know what you’re doing), as one bite from those little creatures can prove fatal to a human being.
