PROPERTY:
Set amongst eight acres of tropical flowers and lush greenery Royal Plantation sits on a bluff soaring 25 feet above the shimmering Caribbean, granting each and every one of its 74 sumptuous suites heart-stopping views of the ocean. Built in the glamorous 1950’s, during a time characterised by extraordinary old-world luxury, this serene sanctuary still maintains a stellar reputation as one of Jamaica’s most exquisite resort-inns.
Guests who sun, swim, and unwind at Royal Plantation's West Beach are served by beach butlers who can deliver an unending supply of thirst-quenching drinks such as coconut rum over shaved ice. East Beach, more secluded, is where couples can worship the sun and each other uninterrupted!
Management here provides a lot for guests to do, including the availability of painting classes from locally famous Jamaican artists, cigar-rolling classes, and every Thursday, cooking classes. Water-sports include kayaks, sailing boats, snorkelling, windsurfing, glass bottom boat rides, water skiing, hobie-cat sailing and scuba-diving can be arranged.
There are three exquisite gourmet restaurants from which to choose. Each possesses a unique atmosphere with an exceptional menu and wine list to match, offering everything from French cuisine in Le Papillon to contemporary menus at La Terrazza which has both air-conditioned and al fresco dining. They also feature the Caribbean's finest and Jamaica's only Caviar and Champagne bar.
Honeymoon couples and other romantics can opt for an all-inclusive plan or a less-expensive European plan, which covers two meals daily.
In our opinion Royal Plantation is a wonderful experience in a truly beautiful location with warm and friendly staff.

One of the largest and most beautiful Caribbean islands of all - Jamaica is a land of 200 miles of white sugary sand beaches, spectacular mountain scenery, great nightlife and thundering waterfalls.
Montego Bay is the best resort to be in if you like it “lively” – it has a vibrant “Hip Strip” with a good selection of bars, shops and restaurants. It is also famous for it’s Doctor’s Cave beach with it’s alleged calming therapeutic spring fed water, attractions like the haunted Rose Hall Great House and rafting on the nearby Great River.
Negril is more laid back, spread out along a 7-mile stretch of golden beach. The capital of casual, Negril is perfect for lovers and sun worshippers, and for those who want a bit of adventure to explore the grotto lined cliffs on the West end which is great for snorkelling, watching cliff divers and experiencing the best sunsets nature has to offer.
Ocho Rios is a world-class destination and lays claim to an incredible variety of natural and manmade beauty. Characterised by luxuriant greenery, mountains that soar down to meet stunning beaches, and the world-renowned Dunn's River Falls. Having explored the majesty of Mother Nature, don't forget to take in all the hustle and bustle of Ocho Rios' crafts market, duty-free shops and local colour. Larger than Negril, it’s duty-free shopping is very popular and it’s well situated to visit all major attractions.
